The 12-year-old who shot three students at a school in Finland on Tuesday, one of whom died, acted because he was being bullied. That’s what the Finnish police say.

“The suspect said during interrogations that he was the target of harassment, and this information was also confirmed in the preliminary investigation by the police,” a police statement said.

A twelve-year-old student was killed in the shooting in Vantaa, a town 15 kilometers from Helsinki. The victim is said to have died immediately on the spot. Two other students, girls of the same age, were seriously injured. The perpetrator tried to flee on foot, but he was caught. He also attended classes at Viertola primary school. The shooting reportedly took place in a classroom.
