“Our assignment was to take a nude photo, and we got models for that. But a deadly sin was also linked to it. I got vanity. How do you portray that? That’s just like the question you sometimes get as an actor: can you play vanity or stinginess? That is impossible. You can only play active verbs. Such as ‘walking’ or ‘waiting’. And so I thought: I would have myself photographed, instead of my nude model. That seemed very vain to me. But that did mean that I had to be naked.

Well, rien à faire, short pain: take off the pants, and then also involve my model. There I stood in my bare flute. Luckily I was able to hide it behind the camera and the camera was big enough. (laughs) Is it easier as an actor to overcome your embarrassment? No difference, I think. You throw yourself all over for a good photo, even though it makes you extremely vulnerable.
