Porn actress Stormy Daniels is expected to testify today in the criminal trial of Donald Trump in New York. American media report this through Daniels’ lawyer.

“It just came to my attention who is the witness today. This is unprecedented, lawyers are not given time to prepare,” Donald Trump wrote in a now-deleted post on his own social network Truth Social. He did not mention Stormy Daniels by name, but according to insiders, including a lawyer for Daniels, it concerns the porn actress. Whether she will also be a witness on Tuesday morning (local time) when the trial is resumed remains to be seen.

The criminal trial against Donald Trump centers on the payment of $130,000 in hush money to Stormy Daniels, who wanted to reveal during the 2016 presidential campaign that she had had an affair with the then presidential candidate. Such a payment is not illegal in itself, but the ex-president is said to have repaid the money to his then lawyer Michael Cohen with campaign funds, and had that payment recorded in the accounts as “legal costs”. In total, Trump is accused of 34 criminal offenses.

Donald Trump himself denies ever having an affair with Stormy Daniels. He has maintained for years that it is a politically motivated process and a witch hunt. The Republican seems unable to resist publicly expressing his dissatisfaction with the judicial process, even though the judge has imposed a gag order on him. Trump was fined $1,000 for the tenth time by Judge Juan Merchan on Monday for flouting the gag order. Trump has already attacked jurors several times on his own social medium Truth Social and other media, and according to Merchan he is endangering them.
