The director of the Italian amusement park Movieland The Hollywood Park will not be punished following a serious accident. In the summer of 2019, the track of the Back to the Backstage monorail collapsed. Two wagons with visitors ended up on the ground. Seven passengers were injured.

Justice started a criminal investigation, in which general director Fabio Amicabile was initially a suspect. He was officially acquitted at the end of April. They now have another suspect in mind: an employee who had to check the 2004 attraction.

Although director Amicabile announced after the incident that all attractions in Movieland meet strict safety requirements, the monorail appeared to be not well maintained. Subsequent inspections revealed negligence in maintenance procedures.

Bolts showed corrosion and safety standards were not adhered to. An engineer was responsible for this. He will have to appear in court, unlike Amicabile. The Public Prosecution Service suspects that safety certificates have been forged. Research is still being done into this.

Back to the Backstage still exists. After a renovation, the attraction was reopened a few years ago under the name Panorama Tram. Visitors can still take a ride today. Movieland The Hollywood Park is part of CaneveWorld Resort, located on Lake Garda.
