The labor inspectorate is investigating the accident. Healthcare organization PluZorg, which includes the care farm, informed other stakeholders and colleagues in writing on Monday afternoon of the events in Aartswoud. This message stated that the participant from Het Zorgerf became trapped in the lifting system of a tractor.

Quickly on site

“Fortunately, emergency services such as ambulance and fire brigade were quickly on site to provide assistance,” the statement said. ‘Unfortunately, the result was that the participant had to be urgently transported to hospital with injuries to his hand, where he was treated for his injuries. At this time it appears there are no permanent injuries.”

The PluZorg board says it regrets that such an accident could have occurred. ‘And we We sincerely hope that our participant will get better soon, so that he can leave the hospital in the foreseeable future. The labor inspectorate and the Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ) were immediately involved.’

Residential farm

The care farm is located on the grounds where the Cattle Museum is also located. Clients with intellectual disabilities live and work at the location on Schoolstraat. Thirteen places to live have been created in a renovated farmhouse. Some of the residents enjoy daytime activities on the farm in Aartswoud. This daytime activity is also accessible to people from outside who belong to the target group.

The manager who coordinates the daytime activities and the living area did not want to comment on the accident on Monday afternoon. The board of the Cattle Museum also refrains from commenting.
