A championship party on the field is not planned for PSV this week. But coach Peter Bosz’s team can win the national title today if it plays away against Heerenveen. At least if Feyenoord lends a helping hand. This is the program for round 31.

Because football in the Premier League cannot be played on King’s Day on Saturday due to the necessary police deployment in the country, the program is spread over Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The top clubs already come into action midweek, because the program took into account possible European obligations next week.

Scenarios

PSV is champion if it achieves a better result than Feyenoord on Thursday. A draw in Heerenveen could be enough for Peter Bosz’s team. The number two from Rotterdam will have to lose to Go Ahead Eagles later in the evening. In that case, the people of Eindhoven will probably know on the bus home that they have won the championship.

If both teams win (lose or draw), PSV is only ‘unofficial champion’ based on the much better goal difference. In that case, the leader will play its championship match on May 5 at home against Sparta. A draw is enough for the Eindhoven team to win the 25th national title in club history.
