Izegem/Meulebeke

41-year-old Bram B. from Izegem is said to have inappropriately touched a childcare worker from the daycare where his daughter stayed and risks ten months in prison. He himself claims that the touch was accidental and that the woman blew up the case because of his past. Ten years ago, B. was convicted of raping several women.

Bram B., who was working as a pharmacist at the time, was sentenced to four years in prison in 2013 for the rape of his then wife and a prostitute. With a cleaning lady it was just an attempt. All victims were administered a narcotic.

The ex-pharmacist is once again in a difficult position. On October 20, 2022, he allegedly groped an employee when he came to pick up his daughter from a daycare center in Meulebeke. “The defendant admits there was a touch but claims it was accidental,” the prosecutor said. “The question is why would the lady lie about that?”

At the trial, B. insisted that he did not consciously grope the woman. “One is exaggerating an accidental touch to proportions that never existed,” his lawyer said. “I don’t believe the lady didn’t know who my client was.”

According to B., the woman was bending over a cupboard and they accidentally bumped into each other when she stood back up. “There was no further contact,” said B.

Verdict on May 28.
