Lots of animals!

Leaving large dead animals in nature is not common in the Netherlands. Yet this is very important for all kinds of large and small animals and other organisms. People are increasingly committed to the return of dead animals and large scavengers to nature. In this way, animals that have been hit are not removed, but returned to the nature where they came from.

Many animals depend on large carcasses. Because dead animals often do not return to the wild, species that depend on carrion have a hard time! Finding carcasses is often quite a challenge. For example, the raven and black kite are still rare.

Many animals feast on carrion in one way or another. If you keep a close eye on the live stream, you will see numerous large and small animals approaching the dead deer. During the day you have a chance of seeing birds such as buzzard, magpie and great tit. And with a little luck, ravens will come along. When darkness falls, things get exciting! Little owls, stone martens, badgers and foxes live nearby. For all these animals, the carcass is a restaurant without opening hours.
