René van der Gijp spoke out critically on Monday evening about the performance of journalist Rutger Castricum in the program The Orange Sunday on SBS6. The former footballer said in Today Inside that he thinks Castricum, who also regularly sits next to Van der Gijp, takes himself too seriously.

Van der Gijp and Johan Derksen were critical on Monday evening of the last broadcast of the Oranjezondag, which, according to Derksen, was not fun to watch because of the often laughing table guests. Castricum, who is a regular in the Today Inside program where the two former football players play the leading roles, also stood out. Derksen thought only Jack van Gelder made a good impression as a table guest in the talk show, which is presented by sports presenter Hélène Hendriks.

Van der Gijp noticed that Castricum often wants to take the leading role in the SBS talk show: “Rutger (Castricum, ed.) also takes his role too seriously,” says the analyst from Today Inside. “He thinks he should carry the program, forget it,” the former football player advises the journalist. “Sit there as a sidekick and talk to the other person, but don’t give the idea that you have a very big role in that program.
