The atx 3.0 power supplies are really starting to arrive. Seasonic, SilverStone and even Asus have PSUs with a 12VHPWR plug in the making.

Seasonic’s PS Vertex series hasn’t been officially announced yet, but there is already a

. They are also already on the website of a number of American retailers. The PS Vertex PSUs come in 80+ Gold and 80+ Platinum versions, with 1000 and 1200 watts of power. The retailers are not yet completely agreed on prices, but it seems that the cheapest model will cost around 230/240 euros.

SilverStones HELA 850R psu.

SilverStone already has its HELA 850R Platinum on the website. The power supply has a power of 850 watts and a ‘fanless’ mode, in which the fan switches off at low consumption. It is also modular and the supplied cables are extra flexible. Prices and delivery date have not yet been announced.

An Asus LOKI SFX power supply.

Asus, meanwhile, seems to be working on the ROG LOKI SFX-L series. In any case, the 850-watt variant has already been certified by Cybernetics. Asus’ LOKI SFX power supplies are smaller than ‘normal’ PSUs, but just modular. 750, 1000 and 1200 watt variants are also expected to be released, all produced by manufacturer Great Wall.

We have also seen some atx 3.0 PSU’s from other brands. For example, MSI comes with the 1300 watt MEG Ai1300P and Cooler Master unveiled an 1100 and 1300 watt psu in February.

Atx 3.0 power supplies can keep the next generations of power-guzzling PCIe 5.0 graphics cards running. The new 12VHPWR plug (up to 600 watts) is especially interesting for this, although we recently found out that an atx 3.0-psu does not necessarily need such a plug.
