The website primarily serves to inform organizations and professionals. There is also a virtual space where specific questions can be asked and any further guidance can be initiated.

The website is part of the first Brussels plan to combat violence against women, which was launched by the State Secretary for Equal Opportunities, Nawal Ben Hamou (PS).

Not known enough by the target audience

According to the State Secretary, access to information for victims of sexual and/or gender-specific violence is an enormous challenge. The existing services and support organizations are not yet sufficiently known among the target public. The Secretary of State believes the website is “an essential tool to ensure everyone has access to the right information”.

Earlier this week, Olista, a first center for domestic violence in Brussels, was launched – where women are the most often victims. “This website complements the various services set up to combat violence against women and help its victims,” concludes Ben Hamou.
