IFA: Huawei comes with a package of thin and light devices

Huawei has expanded its consumer electronics portfolio with a laptop, a tablet in two sizes, two smartphones and a new smartwatch. In addition, the brand announces that all wearables are now compatible with sports app Strava. Huawei Mobile Services now has 580 million monthly users, 45 million of which are within Europe. Thanks to more than 5.5 million developers, the number of apps in the AppGallery has increased by 147 percent from a year ago.

Thin and light MateBook X Pro

The MateBook X Pro includes a latest-generation Intel CPU and a 14.2-inch 3.1K display. The touchpad has support for eight gestures for faster operation. There is a full HD camera, six speakers and four microphones built in with AI-based noise reduction. The housing is made of magnesium alloy with an oxidized finish and the total weighs 1.26 kilograms.

MatePad Pro in 11 and 12.6″

The MatePad Pro gets an 11 or 12.6 inch OLED panel at 120 hertz with a delta E value of less than 1. The smallest version is 5.9 millimeters thick and weighs 449 grams. Both models are compatible with the M Pencil.

nova 10 and 10 Pro with reversed cameras

The nova 10 and its Pro version have a special philosophy behind the camera layout. Priority has been given to the selfie camera. This results in a 60 megapixel ultrawide sensor that can record 4K video. On the Pro, an 8MP portrait camera for close-ups is added to this.

On the back, a 50 megapixel sensor acts as the primary camera. The nova 10 is 6.88 millimeters thick, the 10 Pro is exactly 1 mm thicker.

Watch D with accurate blood pressure measurement

The Watch D has a sensor with an accuracy of 3 millimeters of mercury that can measure blood pressure by adjusting the readout to the position on the wrist. It is also possible to make an electrocardiogram and the data can be viewed in Health Lab.

There is a large collection of sports programs and monitoring tools built in and the battery life is 7 days.

Prices and availability

  • Pricing and availability dates for the MateBook X and MatePad Pro have not yet been announced.
  • The nova 10 and nova 10 Pro will be available from €499 and €649 respectively.
  • The Watch D will be available at the end of 2022 from €399.
