The ‘Boom Clap’ singer said in an interview on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ that she was asked to write songs for a very famous person. When a fan asked if it was about Britney Spears’ new album, Charli held back for a moment before revealing her side of the story: “Um, yeah, but it leaked to the press. Britney then posted something on Instagram saying she said, “I leave no random people write for me.” And I thought, “Oh, okay, go off.”
Charli added, “I don’t know if she was part of the process, maybe her team didn’t notify her. Britney probably has a lot of other projects she’s focused on.”
Andy Cohen asked Charli if she had written anything with the hope that Spears would record it. Charli replied, “Of course, yes. I went to Malibu and wrote. You always hope Britney records them, because she’s the queen of pop. But she didn’t record it, so apparently not. Random.” she teased, pointing at herself.
Despite this, Charli is still hoping that Spears might record one of her songs. “I love her,” she said. “It would be a dream come true.”
