The US presidential elections in November could have global consequences. According to an analysis by the website Carbon Brief, a victory for Donald Trump could lead to four billion tons of CO2 equivalent more emissions from the US by 2030 than with Joe Biden. These additional emissions would cause climate damage worth more than 800 billion euros and make the goal of keeping the global temperature rise below one and a half degrees unattainable.
