Huawei has announced that it will also launch three brand new devices in the Pura 70 series in Europe. This concerns the Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra. The Puras are the successors to the P60 series and a major name change has therefore been chosen.

The three smartphones can be pre-ordered immediately and will be delivered from May 22. You can order via Huawei’s own webshop, but the devices can also be found via other online stores.

The prices and storage variants of the three models are as follows:

  • Huawei Pura 70: 12GB / 256GB – 999 euros – black and white
  • Huawei Pura 70 Pro: 12GB / 512GB – 1199 euros – black and white
  • Huawei Pura 70 Ultra: 16GB / 512GB – 1499 euros – black, green and brown

The Pura 70 has a 6.6 inch screen. It is an AMOLED display with a resolution of 2760 by 1256 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Three cameras are placed on the back, including the primary one of 50 megapixels. A periscopic zoom camera and wide-angle lens are also on board.

The battery has a capacity of 4900 mAh and you can charge it with a maximum of 66 watts. Wireless charging is also possible and works with a maximum of 50 watts. The smartphone is dust and waterproof thanks to the IP68 certification, has stereo speakers and is equipped with a self-developed processor. Unfortunately, support for 5G is lacking.

Huawei Pura 70 and Pura 70 Ultra

The Pura 70 Pro is also coming to the Netherlands. This device has a larger screen with rounded screen edges. The resolution of the 6.8-inch display is also slightly higher.

The biggest difference with the normal Pura 70 is with the cameras. The Pro version has a 50-megapixel main camera, which is equipped with optical image stabilization – just like the entry-level version. The telephoto lens has a higher resolution of 48 megapixels and you can also use it for taking macro photos. With the wide-angle lens you can take snapshots of architecture or landscapes.

You can charge with a maximum of 100 watts and the 5050 mAh battery is slightly larger than the Pura 70. You can charge wirelessly with the special charger with a maximum of 80 watts.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra officially unveiled

Finally, the Pura 70 Ultra, the most luxurious version of the trio. The back is pulled up vegan leather and has a unique design. There is a camera that can physically slide in and out of the housing. This allows you to take 50 megapixel photos. A 50-megapixel telephoto lens and 40-megapixel wide-angle lens are also present. You can use the 13-megapixel front camera for selfies or video calls.

All three devices are equipped with the Kirin 9010 chip and have a large amount of working and storage memory on board. They run on EMUI, a version of Android without Google support. This has to do with the restrictions that the company has been dealing with for several years. It is no longer allowed to collaborate with American companies and can therefore not offer Google apps.

Temporary 99 euro discount and free Freebuds 3

From May 2 to June 5, a promotion will run via Huawei’s own webshop. If you buy a device in the Pura 70 series, you will score a discount of 99 euros. You will also temporarily receive a set of FreeBuds Pro 3 as a gift (recommended retail price of 199.99 euros).
