Striking Fallout 4 mods suddenly very popular

--

Recently, Fallout 4 finally got the next-gen update that was promised years ago. But not everyone is actually happy with this update. In fact, it turns out that many players are now trying to get rid of the update via mods.

Thanks to the Fallout series on Prime Video, the games are also extremely popular again. Players returning to Fallout 4 can also get started with a current-gen update. Players on PC will also get some features, but it has already become apparent that players are not particularly happy with the update on PC.

For example, it doesn’t address too many bugs and stretches the UI in ultra wide mode. On top of that, as is often the case with updates, it breaks almost all mods for Fallout 4. For many players, mods come with bigger and better tweaks than the next-gen update, so fans are looking for ways to get them working again.

A large number of moderators are already updating their mods to work with the latest official version of Fallout 4. But while fans wait for that, two new mods have become very popular. Their goal is to prevent or remove the next-gen update.

Which mods can take you back to the old Fallout 4?

Two mods in particular have become extremely popular on Nexusmods in the past week: Steam – Skip Next-Gen update and Fallout 4 Downgrader. The former modifies a file in your game so that Steam thinks you have the update and stops trying to download it. The second rolls back an installed update.

Fallout 4 Downgrader asks for your Steam login details, so some caution is advised. The creator of the mod invites users to review the code and verify that the data is really only used to downgrade Fallout 4. With the right technical know-how, you can also download the mod code separately and run it yourself, so you don’t have to share your login details with anyone.
