The Sonic the Hedgehog universe is expanding! After an overwhelming international box-office success with ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ and ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’, the entire film team reunites for the spin-off series ‘Knuckles’.
Follow Knuckles on an action-packed journey as he teaches his protégé Wade the ropes of being an Echidna warrior. All episodes can be binned exclusively on Streamz from April 27.
In the new live-action series ‘Knuckles’ we follow the character of the same name (Idris Elba) on a hilarious, action-packed journey. When Knuckles agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé, he begins an intense journey of self-discovery. He must teach Wade what it means to be an Echidna warrior and comes to some insights of his own.
‘Knuckles’ returns the entire creative team from the previous films including director and executive producer Jeff Fowler. Together with Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington and Toru Nakahara, he translated the characteristic animation style of the films into the series. The spin-off takes place between the films of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ 2 and the upcoming ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’.
In addition to Idris Elba (“Luther”) as the main character Knuckles, Adam Pally (“Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”) also reprises his role as Wade Whipple from the films. The ensemble cast also includes Stockard Channing (‘The Good Wife’), Edi Patterson (‘The Righteous Gemstones’), Scott Mescudi (‘X’), Ellie Taylor (‘Ted Lasso’), Julian Barratt (‘The Great’) , Rory McCann (‘Game of Thrones’), Cary Elwes (‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning’), Christopher Lloyd (‘Back to the Future’), Paul Scheer (‘Big Mouth’) and Rob Huebel (‘The Sex Lives or College Girls’). Ben Schwartz will also reprise his role as Sonic as well as Tika Sumpter as Maddie and Colleen O’Shaughnnessey as Tails.
‘Knuckles’ is produced by Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America. The showrunners are John Whittington and Toby Ascher. The series was written by John Whittington, Brian Schacter and James Madejski. It is directed by Jeff Fowler, Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker. Executive producers are Jeff Fowler, Neal H.
