As a reviewer of the game, I was looking forward last week to what the first season would bring. But after a few missions I don’t really know anymore.

Last week Rik showed more about the first season of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. A part that would bring us the Joker. And that alone is worth dusting off the game. But unfortunately, it all seems nicer than it really is. And I’m not the only one who thinks this.

One player wrote on Reddit about the game’s recent Joker expansion: “I admit, we gave the developers a chance and the benefit of the doubt and we burned our fingers. It’s like seeing the forest on fire when you drive there and go in anyway.”

These comments are in response to a video from AngryJoeShow criticizing the season one expansion for the live service Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leage. He starts the video with: “this has to be a joke.” He continues: “This is the worst DLC launch of a live service game that I know of.”

I don’t want to go that far because there are more examples of these types of grinding festivals, but to be honest, it doesn’t do much good either. In the expansion you go to one of the multiverses, in other words, one of the other worlds where Brainiac has caused misery. Something I thought I was already doing every time I started a mission that sucked me into space.

Apparently the game doesn’t quite work that way and in order to even be able to play with the Joker, you have to grind until you see yellow. There’s nothing new, no new story missions, no new mission types, and no new enemies either. We are in a kind of repetitive paradox in which you keep going in order to be able to work with the Joker. You will have to complete around 70 missions for this.

Fortunately, we as players are not the only ones complaining. Also Warner Bros. Chief financial officer Gunnar Wiedenfels has already said that Kill the Justice League “did not meet our expectations.” If we also take into account that WB wants to make more service games, then I would practice that for a while. Because this is already a bad example. Fortunately, the Joker laughs his balls off. Then at least there is one person who will be happy about this.
