Today can be the day that Club writes European football history, although it will certainly be a day with mixed feelings. Exactly 16 years ago, the Blauw-Zwart family lost one of its beloved heroes, a moment that will undoubtedly not go unnoticed tonight.

Trio of finals, this time with a happy ending?

Club Brugge will try to make up for the 3-2 deficit in the first leg against Fiorentina tonight and thus advance to the European final of the Conference League.

During the 1970s, Club Brugge already played 2 European finals, losing twice to Liverpool. The whole of Jan Breydel is hoping for a new stunt tonight.

Club plays exceptionally on Wednesday, which has everything to do with the cup final tomorrow and the concurrent religious Procession of the Holy Blood in Bruges.

Day full of symbolism

But let this Wednesday also represent a lot of symbolism. On May 8, 2008, Club Brugge lost one of its absolute heroes with the sympathetic François Sterchele.
