Manchester City won very convincingly against a weak Brighton and is still fully involved in the title battle. Kevin De Bruyne started for the Citizens, Doku had to settle for a place on the bench and came on in the last ten minutes. KDB opened the scoring with a wonderful header, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez scored the other goals.

City started strongly and that was rewarded by Kevin De Bruyne. Walker’s cross landed on KDB’s head at the edge of the box. He dived for the ball and headed it neatly into the square. Wonderful goal from the Red Devil. It was his fourth headed goal of his career, but his first in the Premier League. He previously scored against Burton Albion, Hoffenheim and Real Madrid.
The Citizens immediately pushed forward after the goal and it paid off. Lewis Dunk made a slight but stupid foul on Foden on the edge of the box in the 27th minute. The Englishman got behind the ball and kicked the ball into the net via Van Hecke. Brighton also shot themselves in the foot with the third goal by stupidly giving the ball away in their build-up. Foden intercepted and kicked neatly into the far corner. We went to rest with a 0-3 lead.
Manchester City also dominated in the second half. De Bruyne & co had constant possession of the ball and ensured that Brighton could not create anything. In the 62nd minute, Walker found himself alone in front of goal via a long ball. He almost lost the ball, but was able to get the ball ready for Alvarez just in time. Haaland’s replacement only had to kick in. Jérémy Doku came on the field for the last fifteen minutes in place of Bernardo Silva. He still had a big chance at the end. The Red Devil came one on one with Steele, but decided straight at the goalkeeper.
The win moves City within a point of Arsenal, with a game in hand. Due to the defeat, Brighton is in eleventh place.
