Thibaut Courtois was allowed to take his place between the posts again at Real Madrid last weekend. The goalkeeper played the match against Cadiz and won it 3-0.
Thibaut Courtois has had many setbacks this season. Even before the season really started, he was out with a serious knee injury. He had to recuperate for at least eight months.
When he finally started training with the group again, disaster struck again. An injury to the other knee, less serious than the first, but still enough to keep him out for even longer.
He made his comeback last weekend. Courtois played his first league match of the season against Cadiz. He immediately gave Real a clean sheet in the 3-0 win.
The club will play the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday evening. Real must build on a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich from the first leg.
But coach Carlo Ancelotti already came with less news for Courtois. He will not be in goal in the home match against Bayern. Andriy Lunin will simply be between the posts again.
