On Saturday, the Cheetahs finished in third place in their series (3:27.19), narrowly missing out on a place in the final and the corresponding ticket for the Games in Paris. Naomi Van Den Broeck, Hanne Claes, Liefde Schoemaker and Helena Ponette ran in the heats for the Belgians.

Only the top two of each series qualified for the final and the Games. The rest of the countries had to go to the repechages, in which six Olympic tickets could also be distributed (for the top two of each of the three series in the repechages).

The Belgian Cheetahs had to make do without Cynthia Bolingo in the Bahamas. She is suffering from an Achilles tendon injury.

Since the 2022 European Championships in Munich, the Belgian record has stood at 3:22.12. Cynthia Bolingo, Hanne Claes, Helena Ponette and Camille Laus then set the top time.

Falcons have to forfeit game

The Belgian Falcons (4×100 men) had to abandon their match due to a bad stick change. Kobe Vleminckx, Ward Merckx, Antoine Snyders and Simon Verherstraeten competed in the third series of rematches against South Africa and Australia, among others, who were able to get a ticket for Paris.

The Belgian Rockets were disqualified in the series on Saturday, just like their male colleagues, after an incorrect baton change. Rani Vincke, Rani Rosius, Elise Mehuys and Delphine Nkansa ran in those heats.

The Belgian relay team in the mixed 4×400 meters has been disqualified in the final at the World Relays. Thanks to their final place, the Belgians were already assured of a ticket for the Olympic Games.
