Vincent Mannaert will soon no longer be part of the board of Club Brugge. As of July 1, he is no longer a director and he also sold his shares to Bart Verhaeghen.
A lot has happened at Club Brugge this season. Vincent Mannaert was less and less involved in choices. He also had nothing to do with the choice to go for Nicky Hayen.
“I have been less involved operationally in recent months. For example, I was not involved in the choice of Nicky Hayen as Ronny Deila’s successor,” he tells Het Nieuwsblad.
“That is the work of Bart Verhaeghe and Bob Madou, in collaboration with the sporting framework, especially Dévy Rigaux and Maarten Dedobbeleer.”
Mannaert does notice something about Hayen. “What strikes me is that he is not at all impressed. Not by the players he now has to work with and not by the opponents. Always calm and analytical, whether he is talking to a 17-year-old or to Hans Vanaken. Or the opponent now is Deinze or Fiorentina.”
“In a sense you can say that he works in the same way as at Club NXT. The same accents, the same approach. He has completely remained himself. That is one of his strengths. He also knows the club because at the end of last season assistant to Rik De Mil,” he concludes.
