Club Brugge is busy preparing for the coming season and has already almost secured a second summer signing. After the transfer of Ardon Jashari from FC Luzern for around six million euros, the club is about to invest a similar amount in Zaid Romero, a 24-year-old Argentinian central defender.

Romero is seen as the ideal replacement for Abakar Sylla, whose departure last summer left a hole in the defense. With Brandon Mechele currently occupying the left position, Romero is expected to be a strong addition.p>

This change could affect Dedryck Boyata, whose high salary and limited playing time under new coach Nicky Hayen, could be pushed further to the sidelines. Club Brugge will probably try to settle Boyata’s contract, which still has one year left to run, to create financial space.p>
