Albert believes that Vermeeren will never play enough at Atlético Madrid to qualify for a place in the final squad. “He has made a decision by leaving Antwerp. He suspected that he would get little playing time in the League,” says Albert at RTBF.

If he had stayed at Antwerp, he would certainly be among the 23.”

The situation of Charles De Ketelaere is also complicated according to Albert. “He will also have to fight if he wants to be part of the squad. This confirms the abundance of talent in his position.”
