• How do I get tickets?

On Tuesday, December 5, ticket sales started via fan club 1895 for Red Devils matches at next year’s European Championships in Germany.

All members of the fan club received a code with which they could buy one ticket for one or more matches in the group stage. Anyone can still register for 1895. But the longer you are a member (and especially: the more matches you have attended), the greater the chance of getting a ticket.

The sale of tickets for the group stage (10,000 tickets per match) will take place in four phases, based on a ranking determined by the number of matches already attended by fans. “This is how the KBVB rewards its loyal supporters,” it says. Supporters can still become members of the 1895 fan club. They enter the final phase of ticket sales, for which the availability of tickets depends on sales in the previous phases.

If the Red Devils qualify for the second round, ticket sales will open after their final group match. Here too, the most loyal supporters will be given priority.

Anyone who is not only interested in tickets for the Red Devils can visit the UEFA website. From December 4, 1 million tickets will be available there. A third round will take place soon, now that the remaining three countries have qualified through the play-offs.

During the first sales period in October, when only the dates and host cities were known, 1.2 million tickets were already sold. Ticket prices range from 30 euros (group match) to 1,000 euros. The most expensive ticket is for the final.

The Red Devils kick off their European Championship on June 17 in Frankfurt against Slovakijke. With 52,300 seats, the Deutsche Bank Park – formerly Commerzbank-Arena – is the second smallest stadium to host football during the upcoming European Championship. In addition to four group matches, they will also be presented with one eighth final in Frankfurt. The home stadium of Eintracht Frankfurt also served as a World Cup stadium in 2006, and on July 1, 2006, losing finalist France later beat Brazil 0-1. Ex-assistant of the Red Devils, Thierry Henry then scored the only goal.

During the 2006 World Cup, the then Gottlieb-Daimler Stadium was the setting for the consolation final between Germany and Portugal, the Mannschaft won 3-1. The stadium underwent another renovation in 2022. The MHParena also has 66 boxes, good for 956 people and 2,528 business seats. • Seven countries ‘more valuable’ than Red Devils

The bookies do not count the Red Devils among the top favorites at the upcoming European Championship. Their total market value supports that fact. Considering the combined value of all countries that will soon have a shot at final victory, no fewer than seven countries do better than the Red Devils. England takes the cake, with Bellingham (150 million), Saka (120 million) and Kane (110 million), among others, ahead of France and Roberto Martínez’s Portugal. The Netherlands is also doing better than our Red Devils with an estimated market value of 575 million.

• Which other ‘Belgians’ are there?

They can just fit in one car. The five Danes from the Jupiler Pro League who will soon travel with their homeland to the European Championships in Germany. Denmark will – barring injuries or surprises – have a huge Belgian touch at the European Championships next summer. Anderlecht sends no fewer than four players with Delaney, Dolberg, Schmeichel and Dreyer. Club Brugge striker Skov Olsen – if he is fit – will always be selected. The ‘Danish Dynamite’ – a semi-finalist at the previous European Championship – becomes a country to look forward to.

The Jupiler Pro League is producing very few players this summer: in addition to the Danes, only Hrosovsky (Genk, Slovakia) and Zeqiri (Genk, Switzerland) are still allowed to go to the European Championship. Roman Yaremchuk, still owned by Club Brugge, will also be there with Ukraine.

• They are not there

More participants means more stars at the upcoming European Championships. With Erling Haaland (Man City), only one superstar needs to watch the European Championship on television. He was permanently eliminated from the tournament in Germany with Norway. Robert Lewandowski managed to qualify with Poland via the jump-offs, as did Napoli player and Georgian sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

• How much can you earn?

The total prize pool is 331 million euros. Each participating country will receive at least 9.25 million euros. An additional one million euros is added for each match won and 500,000 euros for a draw.

Qualifying for the round of 16 earns 1.5 million, the quarter-finals 2.5 million and the semi-finals 4 million. The runners-up earn an additional 5 million euros, and the eventual winner can even contribute 8 million euros. The European champion can thus earn a maximum of 28.25 million euros at the European Championship.
