BUB calls Reuzegom a “fascistoid” group and describes its members as “murderers” of Sanda Dia. Sanda Dia died in 2018 at the age of 20 during a baptism ceremony at the club. Eighteen Reuzegommers were subsequently found guilty of inhumane treatment and of unintentional assault and battery resulting in death.

YouTuber Acid subsequently posted a video online in which he named four Reuzegommers. He received a fine of 800 euros and compensation of 20,000 euros for this. Too severe a punishment, according to BUB. The party is also unhappy about the fact that the Reuzegommers involved were not mentioned by name in the press after their conviction.

“Why can the names of the first be mentioned freely and those of the others not? That cannot be explained in a constitutional state,” they write in a text that was published at the beginning of March. To reinforce its point, BUB also publishes a recognizable photo with the names of members of the student group.

BUB was founded in 2002, but has never had elected officials in parliament.
