LtdStephanie Clerckx (40), ex-model and former girlfriend of Guy Van Sande, is pregnant. She announced this herself on Instagram. “We are finally there,” it sounds. Stephanie and her partner had wanted to have children for some time, but unfortunately everything did not go as hoped. She now openly talks on social media about the difficult journey she has undergone.
“Almost two years ago I became pregnant naturally, but it ended in an ectopic pregnancy,” Clerckx, who has also participated in ‘Expedition Robinson’ in the past, says on her social media. Stephanie then announces that she had to have surgery on her fallopian tubes. However, after the operation, her doctors did not have good news for her. “One fallopian tube was gone and my other fallopian tube turned out to be bad,” it continues. “It was advised to start IVF.”
Lots of tears
With good courage, Stephanie, who is currently PR manager at Deceuninck Quick-Step Cycling Team, and her partner started their fertility journey. “We thought I would be an easy case because I got pregnant naturally so quickly… The reality is different!” What followed was a grueling process that lasted almost two years. “Although there were many tears and pain, I thought it was the most interesting journey ever.”
After a long and difficult road, good news finally followed for Stephanie and her partner. “After two years, two miscarriages and moments when everything just felt hopeless, we are finally here,” the former model tells her followers. The couple can welcome their child in October. Furthermore, Clerckx also has nothing but praise for the medical staff at UZ Brussels. “Your professionalism and expertise paved the way for our miracle.”
