Donald Trump refuses to commit to recognizing the outcome of his rematch against Joe Biden in November’s presidential election, according to an interview broadcast on Thursday.

“If everything is fair, I will happily accept the outcome,” the former president said, when asked about the presidential election by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But if that is not the case, then we will have to fight for the good of the country.”
The comments are very similar to Trump’s statements during the 2020 presidential election. The 77-year-old Republican has never accepted his defeat by Biden in that election.
A response from Biden’s team was not long in coming: “To make a long story short: Donald Trump represents a danger to our Constitution and to democracy,” said a spokesperson for Biden’s campaign team.
In an interview on Tuesday, Trump had also responded very evasively to the possibility of political violence in the aftermath of the elections. “If we don’t win, you know, it depends,” he assured. His supporters, confident of his victory in the 2020 presidential election, stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Six people were killed.
Donald Trump is being prosecuted for his role in this attack and for his attempt to overturn the results of the last presidential election, particularly in the state of Georgia.
