Manchester City did what it had to do by winning 0-2 at Nottingham Forest. De Bruyne contributed with 2 assists. At City, both KDB and Doku were in the starting line-up. Sels was in goal at Forest, Divock Origi had to settle for a place on the bench. The win means City remains in contention for the title.
We were shown the expected game picture. City monopolized the ball and Nottingham Forest aimed for the counter. The first shot of the match came from Kevin De Bruyne. The Red Devil got the ball on the left side of the box and aimed for the far post. Sels had to stretch all the way to grab the ball with his fingertips. Forest also had a chance on the counter, but Williams’ shot was too central to be dangerous.
On the half hour, Gvardiol broke the spell, thanks to a wonderful ball from De Bruyne. The Red Devil sent a corner kick sharply towards the first post and City’s left back headed in with a strong header. A deserved lead for the Citizens. Nottingham Forest still had a great chance to equalize, but Chris Wood kicked the ball wide after a clever cross from Montiel. We went to rest with a deserved 0-1 lead for City.

We saw the same game pattern in the second half. Despite the substitutions of Ederson and Doku, the Citizens remained in charge. Forest tried, but barely came close to Ortega. On the hour mark, Haaland made his return after a foot injury. Ten minutes later it was the Norwegian who put the reassuring 0-2 on the board. Another assist from De Bruyne, who this time stabbed Haaland pretty deep. The Norwegian rounded his defender and kicked in from the corner.
