The Gunners won the North London Derby 2-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Saka, Havertz and an own goal from Hojbjerg secured the win. Romero and Heung-Min Son scored for Spurs. Arsenal are still fully in contention for the title thanks to the win.
The match got off to a difficult start. Tottenham had control of the ball, but were unable to create many chances. After fifteen minutes, Saka was able to kick a corner. He aimed at the first post, where Hojbjerg wanted to head away. Unfortunately for the Dane, he did so in his own goal. 0-1 for Arsenal after fifteen minutes. The Spurs response was not long in coming. Romero was able to head on a sharp cross from an active Maddison, but his decision hit the post. Less than two minutes later, Maddison’s shot, again, stuck in the target. Van den Ven took over and neatly kicked the ball into the goal, but he was offside.

Around the half hour mark, Saka received a long ball from Havertz on his right. He cut inside and cleverly aimed the ball past Vicario into the far corner. A double lead for Arsenal. The third goal for the Gunners again came from a corner. This time Havertz towered above the rest and headed in nicely. We went to rest with a 0-3 lead. Postecoglou had a lot of work ahead of him.
In the second half Arsenal controlled the game until Raya’s mistake. Just after Trossard was replaced by Martinelli, the goalkeeper simply played the ball into Cristian Romero’s feet. The Argentinian defender only had to kick in and he did so. Spurs started to believe in it again, but Arsenal handled the pressure perfectly. It came out right a few times, but kept forgetting to finish it.

In the 83rd minute Rice wanted to kick the ball away in his own box, but he kicked Davies’ buttock. A stupid, but logical penalty for Spurs. Son got behind the ball and fired neatly into the top left corner. So it became exciting in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The win keeps Arsenal in the lead and puts the pressure on Manchester City. The Spurs remain stuck in fifth place.
