The youngest perpetrator was barely 12: girl (14) victim of gang rape by teenagers (Kortrijk)

The public prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into a gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in a bush in Kortrijk. A dozen young suspects – some barely between 12 and 16 years old – have been arrested and placed under the supervision of a juvenile judge.

The Scheutistenlaan in Kortrijk. At the end of the street there are garages and the view is hidden from the houses in the neighborhood. The same street leads to a grove – also called the Kabouterbos – which is mainly used as a mountain bike track during the day.

But terrible events took place in that same grove during the Easter holidays. A 14-year-old girl was allegedly taken there by her boyfriend. Once there, she became the victim of a gang rape. According to well-placed sources, her boyfriend was a ‘lover boy’ type, who deliberately allowed the girl to be abused by his friends.

The girl was allegedly lured to the bush for at least two days, where she became the victim of sex crimes. The investigation has been conducted in complete secrecy in recent weeks. But the West Flemish public prosecutor’s office confirms the gang rape Newspaper. “The perpetrators have been arrested and are under the supervision of the juvenile judge,” it said. “The juvenile judge has taken the necessary youth protection measures, including placement in community institutions. The investigation is still ongoing.”

The age of the young suspects and the size of the group are very remarkable. They are all minors, but according to our information there were about ten of them. All teenagers, barely twelve to sixteen years old. It is not yet clear exactly how the facts came to light. But all those involved have been identified and have since been arrested. Each of the minor suspects is given a personal program by the juvenile judge. It is not clear whether they are all equally guilty and participated in the rape.
