The Production Factory Almere Foundation (SPFA) will also be Almere’s local broadcaster for the next five years. The city council decided this on Thursday evening. The council could choose between two parties, SPFA and Omroep Almere. SPFA has been the local broadcaster for the past five years and broadcasts on the radio via Easy FM and on TV and uses the name 1Almere online.

SPFA director Arno van Boven reacts enthusiastically to the granting of the concession for the next five years. “We are happy with the results of the preferential voting designation of Almere’s public local broadcaster. The municipal council has chosen our organization by a large majority,” says Van Boven.

SPFA received the broadcasting license five years ago and quickly developed into a regional broadcaster. The broadcaster even received the Dutch Regional Broadcasting Quality Mark as the eighth broadcaster in the whole of the Netherlands.

Van Boven is happy that the broadcaster can now continue on the path it has taken. “We can continue our role as a local broadcaster and realize our ambitions for the future. We have worked hard over the past five years to get where we are now.”

A majority of the city council voted in favor of the SPFA with 30 votes.
