New Star Wars special turns the entire canon upside down

--

Some fans take Star Wars very seriously, but many people also have a good laugh about the franchise. A new LEGO Star Wars special seems made especially for those viewers. Whatever you imagine, it will become reality in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.

When a franchise gets big enough, it naturally becomes a question of what would happen if the story went a little differently. Sometimes small things are changed to answer such a question. But in a new LEGO Star Wars special, everything turns upside down.

In Rebuild the Galaxy, Sig Greebling discovers a special artifact in a Jedi temple. This Cornerstone alone possesses a special power and turns the entire universe upside down. Those who are good become bad and those who are bad become good.

Sig has to put all that right, but he has to see a lot of strange things in the process. There are AT-AT walkers with the Rebel logo walking around. TIE Fighters and X-Wings have merged, so to speak, and Geonosians have almost all become Jedi. Nothing is exactly what you expect anymore and there is even a dark version of the Millennium Falcon.

Darth Jar Jar and a LEGO legend

The trailer also reveals that perhaps the greatest Star Wars meme is becoming a reality. Jar Jar Binks is a Sith Lord in this strange version of the Star Wars universe. There is also a role for the legendary Jedi Bob, a character that LEGO once invented to fill out a set.

Rebuild the Galaxy is a four-part special and can be seen in the not too distant future. It will be released on Disney+ on September 13. The four parts will all appear on the service at the same time, so you don’t have to wait for the next episode. This is the usual approach with other Star Wars series.
