The “lost” armored police car has been found in Bree

An armored car of the federal police that had been “lost” or “lost” for a year, has now been found by a passing policeman on the sidewalk in front of the house of a garage owner in Bree, Limburg. The federal police will investigate how this could have happened.

The armored Toyota that is used for cash transport by the Protection Service of the Federal Police had been missing for a year. “Suddenly that car was gone. Nowhere to be found,” it sounds to the agents of that service.

Now, about a year after the mysterious “disappearance”, the car suddenly stood on the sidewalk in front of the private home of a garage mechanic from Bree. An officer who was not on duty, but happened to pass by, thought this was strange and informed the police. The missing car was found.

Hallucinant

The fact that that special car just stood unattended on the side of the street, and could therefore easily be stolen, is now causing some commotion in the lap of the federal police. “Hallucinating! That that lost car is just standing there along the sidewalk,” says Vincent Houssin, vice president of the VSOA. “The fact that the federal police no longer know where their vehicles are in times of possible threats and in the run-up to a terrorist trial is downright frightening. Moreover, this is not an ordinary vehicle, but an armored car. Such vehicles must either be in the official garage or in another secure place with the police.”

Garage owner

How the car got there is now under investigation. The federal police were able to find out a few things in three days. “The car was sent to the manufacturer for repair at the time,” the spokesperson emailed. “And apparently he had entrusted him to a subcontractor”, the garage owner in Bree. The latter, however, declined to respond.

“Now, it is not possible that such a car is just parked in the street”, it continues. “We will continue to examine how this can go. We have now had the car removed from there.” It is not so strange that the car has been under repair for a year, according to the federal police. “It is a very thorough maintenance of a very specialized car. That term is acceptable.”
