Belgium will not be present in the final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, May 11. Mustii failed to qualify as one of the ten finalists in the second semi-final. The Netherlands did achieve a place in the final
After the Big Five – Spain, Germany, Italy, France and the United Kingdom –, organizer Sweden and the ten finalists of the first semi-final, we now also know the last ten finalists. This way we know which 26 countries will participate in the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday.
Our country is not part of that. Mustii, whose real name is Thomas Mustin, gave a solid performance of his song Before the Party’s Over. Yet he did not receive enough votes from the televoting in Europe and the rest of the world. Belgium will not reach the final of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in four years.
Joost Klein
There was more joy in the Dutch camp. Joost Klein was allowed to close the evening. Although he initially seemed impressed by the event, he soon got the audience involved. It turned out to be enough for a place in the grand final.
The second semi-final, like the first, produced few surprises. Switzerland, one of the top favorites for victory, also received a ticket to the final. In addition, Armenia, Greece, Israel, Georgia, Norway, Estonia, Austria and the surprising Latvia can also prepare for a new performance next Saturday.
