In Ghent, repair and maintenance work will cause traffic disruption at three locations on the Ring around Ghent (R4) next week. Work is underway near the Skalden Bridge, Kennedylaan and Volvo Car Ghent, reports the Roads and Traffic Agency.

The works will take place from Monday May 13 to Friday May 17. At the height of the Skalden BridgeIn the direction of Merelbeke, two compound joints will be renewed and the ruts on the right-hand lane will be restored.
At the Esso gas station on the Kennedylaan The road surface will be renewed on the right-hand lane in the direction of Zelzate and finally at Volvo Car Ghentin the direction of Merelbeke, the seam between the emergency lane and the right lane is asphalted.
The start will be at the Skalden Bridge in the direction of Merelbeke, the Agency reports. “While repairing the compound joints, one lane will be open to traffic at a time. During the asphalting works, the driveway on Belgicastraat to the R4 towards Merelbeke will be closed. A diversion will be provided via nearby streets to access the R4 via Langerbruggestraat.”
At Esso on Kennedylaan, traffic can flow in one lane instead of two and during the works on Volvo Car Gent, only the left lane is available during the works.
