Brussels rapper Damso has won the Ultratop Streaming Award 2023, for the Belgian artist who is most streamed in our country. This prize is awarded for the ninth time by the Belgian Recorded Music Association (BRMA) and Ultratop.

Damso’s repertoire has been streamed approximately 507.3 million times in Belgium since the start of his career in 2016. Last year, the rapper, also popular in France, achieved more than 42 million streams. With his fifth award, Damso is the only record holder. Stromae won the Ultratop Streaming/Download Award four times (2010, 2013, 2014 and 2022).

Brussels rapper Hamza, Metejoor, K3 and Lost Frequencies complete the top five of 2023. Flemish pop stars Camille and Pommelien Thijs finished sixth and seventh respectively. The likeMe Cast, Stromae and Angèle are also in the top ten.

Damso says in a response that he is satisfied, honored and proud of the open spirit of his supporters. “During my career I have made songs and albums in so many different styles. That is why I was lynched by the media and yet my Belgian fans have always followed and supported me,” he said. “The fact that I am the most listened to artist in Belgium for the fifth time, while I have not released a new album for several years, motivates me for the album I am now working on.”
