80,000 people attended the Iris Festival last weekend. On Saturday evening, around 9,000 people went crazy during the Iris Tipik Electro Night. The rest of the weekend attracted a remarkable number of families to the activities in the Warande Park and in the municipalities.

The Brussels Region celebrated its 35th anniversary at the Iris Festival. That started on Saturday afternoon with the Iris Festival in the municipalities. In the neighboring municipalities of Schaerbeek, Evere and Sint-Joost-ten-Noode, many curious people took part in the tours and activities. “The Art Nouveau route in Schaarbeek, the renovated Museum Pieter Cnops in Evere and the culinary workshops in Sint-Joost-ten-Noode were very popular,” the organization said.

The next day, the epicenter of the Iris Festival shifted to the Warande Park. There you could visit seven theme villages. Thousands of families enjoyed activities organized by Brussels associations and institutions. Many street and other artists were also present. A little further on, the Brussels Parliament received a lot of visitors who wanted to get to know the temple of democracy better. (amg)
