Matteo Simoni played the role of Dennis Burkas in the film ‘Zillion’. The Limburg actor stated on Radio 1 yesterday that, if he were asked the question again, he would probably fit in to take on the role of the fallen porn king.
At the time Simoni was asked for the role, Burkas had already sat several times. For example, he was convicted in 2008 and 2011 for the rape of two fifteen-year-old girls. A few years later, another conviction followed for inciting a fourteen-year-old girl and a fifteen-year-old girl to engage in prostitution.
“A lot of people didn’t like me playing that role. I understand that,” Simoni said on Radio 1 on Wednesday. “I have started to think about it. Playing people with a dark side or a criminal past: it is not obvious. Sometimes I didn’t sleep for nights wondering whether I should do it.”
Last week Dennis Burkas was convicted of rape and indecent assault of eight women and for Simoni that was the last straw, he said on Radio 1: “I will think twice if I am asked again for Dennis Black Magic to play.”
However, from our research for this book, we know that Simoni has another reason to be pissed off at Dennis Burkas.
In the summer of 2020, Dennis Burkas came across the profile of the then 25-year-old A. from Sint-Katelijne-Waver on Facebook and immediately thought: ‘I must have had that’. He pretends to be the big man from an East Flemish event hall and he is apparently urgently looking for a hostess to receive VIP guests, and he can see from A.’s face that she is the perfect person for that. A. doesn’t know Burkas and initially doesn’t want to comment, but Burkas keeps talking to her and eventually the girl changes her mind.
On August 7, 2020, A. is driving with a friend – she just doesn’t want to drive that far, to someone she doesn’t actually know, to Genk station. The girls are picked up there by Dennis and the ride goes to his attic room in Genk. The girls are surprised that such a rich guy lives in such a crawl space, but Dennis dismisses it with ‘My good friend Vincenzo lives here, I can’t take everyone to my huge villa’. Vincenzo is actually the downstairs neighbor, to whom Dennis ‘sold’ his Helena several times: we have that here already written.
Because Dennis supposedly doesn’t live there, he supposedly has to look for drinks to offer the girls. However, there appears to be only spirits and… liquid GHB in the house. The girls don’t want either of them. As if sent by heaven, Jurgen, Dennis’s right hand, suddenly arrives. Now he can go to a night shop for a Coke. A.’s girlfriend, K., has to go with Jurgen so Dennis can discuss matters with A.
When Dennis is alone with A., he suddenly changes his tone. Actually, he is not looking for a hostess, but for some kind of escort for none other than Matteo Simoni. That would earn her some serious money: a thousand euros for half an hour. But she has to decide very quickly and Matteo wanted Dennis to ‘test’ the merchandise first. Without a jacket, because for that money the actor would like to go birding without Pipi Vangkous. Before A. realized it, her clothes were already on the floor.
Later it turns out – of course! – that there is no job for A. as a luxury escort for Matteo Simoni. When she realizes that she has been framed and Dennis only wanted to go birding with her, she goes to him to tell her story. However, Dennis blackmails her: “I filmed that then. Say one word about this and I will throw those images on the internet.” A. opens her mouth and the images actually leak onto the internet…
However, that is not the end of the story. In the case for which Dennis was convicted last week, A.’s name came back during the large-scale investigation conducted by the police. And because they did that research thoroughly, they also wanted to hear Matteo Simoni’s version. On Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 4 p.m., in interrogation room ALO19 at the federal judicial police in Hasselt, the actor was allowed to explain to detectives CW and LA that he had not asked Dennis Burkas at all to find an escort for him and had first asked himself. to take a test drive.
