Houses, cars and more than a million euros lost: chip shop operator and drug criminal convicted of fraud | Antwerp

The criminal court of Antwerp sentenced Maati K. (43) on Thursday to forty months in prison for, among other things, fraud, money laundering and VAT fraud. Six real estate properties and 900,000 euros belonging to the former chip shop operator were confiscated. From investigation, the public prosecutor’s office concluded that the man was involved in many dubious financial transactions. The prosecutor even used the term ‘habitual criminal’. K. had also been sentenced to 10 years in prison in an earlier drug trial.
