The foundation stone of the new veterinary clinic of the Prince Laurent Foundation in Brussels was laid on Friday in the presence of Prince Laurent and a number of Brussels politicians. The Land Management Agency of the City of Brussels purchased the land for the clinic. Equipped with modern equipment, the veterinary clinic will provide free care for the pets of the less fortunate.

The current animal clinic, which has been located on Vossenplein in the Marolles district for decades, no longer meets the Foundation’s needs in terms of reception and animal care.

The new building, in Steylsstraat in Laeken, will consist of brand new premises, such as a waiting room and reception, two consultation rooms, a hospitalization room, an operating room and an X-ray room.

“The Land Management Agency of the City of Brussels has purchased the building, which will be delivered fully equipped. It will then conclude a long-term lease contract with the Prins Laurent Foundation at a more favorable price,” explains Brussels Alderman for Housing Lydia Mutyebele Ngoi. “In this way, the city remains an important actor within its territory in the provision of affordable animal care for everyone.”

The Prins Laurent Foundation has six veterinary clinics in Belgium. In this way they try to focus on the less fortunate by offering them free veterinary care for their pets.
