Cultural center De Warande in Turnhout and Fox Concerts & Events from Vosselaar will be celebrating in the Kuub hall with Kempenhelden on Saturday, April 27. About ten local Kempen bands and musical talent give the best of themselves.
During a new edition of Local Heroes, musical talent from all over Flanders and Brussels takes center stage at various locations. At the Kuub store in De Warande in Turnhout, ten bands from the Kempen will be in the spotlight on Saturday April 27 from 7 p.m. The organization is in the hands of De Warande and Fox Concerts & Events. The bands that play alternately at the Rode Toog and in the Kuub hall are PD Martin Band, Cavemen Park feat. DJ Courtasock, Sekushi, The Midlife Møtherføckers, Luc Van Steenbergen Trio, Fien De Roose, The Age of G., Hotel Vinyl, Bart Huysmans and The Sweet Chili 5.
Various music styles are discussed during the Kempenhelden evening. For example, The Midlife Møtherføckers from Kasterlee call themselves the worst punk band from the Kempen and far beyond. Luc Van Steenbergen Trio mixes elements from jazz with rock, funk and blues. Hotel Vinyl is throwing a party with vinyl records in the Kuub room.
The entrance fee for Kempenhelden is six euros. (bvdl)
