To emphasize that N-VA is also specifically committed to Flemish Brabant, the party organized an election conference that explains the program for the region. Four themes are crucial: economy and mobility, safety, open space and also integration and integration. “We are often the first to feel the impact of urbanization, but we also come up with solutions,” says conference chairman Jeroen Tiebout (current Flemish Member of Parliament and fourth place in the House).

N-VA believes that the economy should be given more opportunities to grow, without stagnation due to busy traffic routes or unliveability due to the proximity of Brussels Airport in Zaventem. Safety is also on the agenda, as is its own court in Halle-Vilvoorde and more investments. “We must respond to urbanization and deal better with open space and our farmers,” it says. According to the party, more attention is also needed for Dutch and Flemish traditions.

“It is not without reason that our slogan is Ben. Theo. Brabant,” laughed party leaders Weyts and Francken. “We love our province and believe that it is beautiful to live with us. And that it can also be better. Some challenges in Flemish Brabant are greater than elsewhere, but with the support of our voters we can make a positive difference on June 9.”
