The Antwerp police arrested several young drug dealers last weekend. The youngest turned out to be 15 years old. The police seized several bags of cocaine and cannabis.

The neighborhood support team (WOT) of the Center region spotted a young man on an electric scooter on Saturday. “He made contact with someone in a house on Lange Lozanastraat,” says the police, who checked the customer.

“He confirmed that he had just purchased two user quantities of cannabis. The team was also able to arrest the 15-year-old suspect. He had 250 euros in cash and nine packages of cocaine in his pocket.” The police carried out a search of the house and found incriminating elements there. Also on Friday, the police stopped a stepper for a check in the area of ​​the Cockerillkaai. The 16-year-old also turned out to be dealing drugs. Both minors have been brought before the juvenile court.

The neighborhood team in the Stuivenberg district checked a minor in Korte Zavelstraat on Sunday. “He had 9.5 grams of hashish in his pocket. An official report was drawn up and his parents had to come and pick him up,” the police said.

An 18-year-old dealer in Sint-Elisabethstraat has been summoned via summary proceedings. “He still had 48.2 grams of hashish and 0.4 grams of cocaine. Another 8.8 grams of cannabis was found at his home address. All drugs have been seized.”

The neighborhood team also tackled nuisance on Sunday. At the Schijnpoort they found a man in the metro who had just used drugs. “When they came out of the metro with the man, they bumped into two beggars who had previously been warned about their persistent behavior. Someone who was looking for drugs and someone who threw something on the ground received a GAS fine for their behavior.” (jtp)
