Nordin El H., (36), alias ‘fat Nordin van de Dam’ is on his way to Belgium. The wanted drug lord, who is facing six cases for large-scale cocaine smuggling and arms trafficking, has just been put on a plane from Dubai by the Emirati authorities.
Nordin El H., alias Dikke Nordin van Den Dam, is a wealthy Antwerp drug criminal who has been living in Dubai for years. The 35-year-old was previously sentenced to 40 months in prison for drug trafficking, but fled to Dubai after that conviction in 2016.
From there he allegedly controlled his alleged drug trade and had cocaine smuggled into the port of Antwerp. The Antwerp court has made several attempts to have him extradited in recent years, but these attempts always failed. The authorities in Dubai recently decided to extradite him to our country. Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt (Open VLD) also traveled to Dubai a few weeks ago in the context of that extradition.
Fat Nordin is currently on his way to our country. He was put on a plane by the authorities of the United Arab Emirates. This will be confirmed to our editorial team. El H. would land later today with an army plane at the military airport of Melsbroek. After that, it may go straight to the investigating judge.(sgg)
