What are important topics for l’Unie?

“We especially want to emphasize the importance of multilingualism. Education must become a federal competence, such as in the Netherlands where there is a national Ministry of Education. In addition, there are three spearheads: democracy, education and innovation. We want state reform and less government. It is now too complex.”

L’Unie wants more Belgium, which goes against the current trend.

“Our party is a response to years of N-VA policy in Flanders and also to Vlaams Belang. We want to offer a Belgian-minded alternative to OpenVLD and Groen. We focus on the more than 70,000 Dutch-speaking Brussels residents who are in favor of bilingualism and the 150,000 Brussels residents who are bilingual. We want to give French speakers in Belgium a real opportunity to become bilingual.”

Do you have enough signatures yet?

“Yes, we have enough signatures to participate in the federal elections in Flemish Brabant, Walloon Brabant and Brussels. Our lists are almost ready, we still have two weeks.”
