The mandate of Franky De Keyzer, Crown Prosecutor of Antwerp, was extended on Tuesday by the Supreme Court of Justice until 2029, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office reported. De Keyzer succeeded Anne-Marie Gepts in 2019.

“I am happy that, as Crown Prosecutor of the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office, I can continue to contribute to a safer and caring society. The challenges we face are well known and are not minor, at local, national and international levels. People count on us,” says attorney Franky De Keyzer.

“Reason enough to continue to focus on intense collaboration with our chain partners. Collaborating with specialists from both inside and outside the justice system is the way to go for me. Only in this way can we really generate impact,” says De Keyzer.

Franky De Keyzer was sworn in as King’s Attorney of Antwerp in 2019. De Keyzer, from Temse, then succeeded Anne-Marie Gepts. He started as a trainee lawyer at the Antwerp bar in 1992 and became a substitute at the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office in 1996. In 2003 he switched to the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of Appeal in Antwerp, where he became advocate general.
