Wout Faes is a certainty in the base under Domenico Tedesco. The Leicester City defender is often criticized, but he doesn’t care about it. Faes spoke about his status with the Red Devils.
Tedesco has confidence in Faes
Faes is Tedesco’s most used player. It’s a big show of confidence in the defender. “I have played the most minutes of all under Tedesco. That is different than under the previous coach. Why? I think he thinks I am doing well (laughs). I have had to learn a different playing style because we have a different playing style at Leicester City. “We have a manager who apprenticed with Pep Guardiola. That’s how we play now.”
Faes is in balance with Zeno Debast, but it is clear that the former is preferred. Still, some believe that Tedesco should test the Debast-Vertonghen duo, who are very busy at Anderlecht, internationally.

“I now hope to play at the European Championships. I also know that Debast plays with Vertonghen every week. But that is competition and the cliché is that it makes you better,” says Faes.
In the background, Koni De Winter is also knocking on the door. The central defender is doing well at Italian Genoa and can celebrate his debut against Ireland. He is not yet eligible to immediately become a starting player for the Red Devils.
