CelebritiesBritney Spears (42) recently reached an agreement with her father in a legal dispute. “Although custody was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom has now truly been fulfilled,” her lawyer said. Yet the settlement once again raises many questions online. According to psychiatrist Charles Sophy, the singer is unable to take care of herself. “She is in danger,” says ‘TMZ’.

Since the end of 2021, Britney is no longer under her father’s rule. But since the settlement last week, her father has also been fired as manager of his daughter’s assets. The singer has her full freedom back, but according to psychiatrist Charles Sophy, this is irresponsible.

“The guardianship was there for a reason. Her father may not have been the right person, but a whole process was conducted at the time,” says Sophy. “When you have a mental illness of this degree, you need that kind of structure and supervision. Most importantly, you need someone who has control over the medication you take.”

Not happy, but stable

According to a source at ‘TMZ’, Britney is currently in danger. She is said to have ‘shocking’ voice changes and is said to have spent more than a million dollars on her lavish travels. “She is on the verge of bankruptcy,” that source previously said. “That behavior, that recklessness, is the result of a period without medication,” Sophy assures. “Situations like this eventually hit a wall. Either she hurts herself or she can be admitted to psychiatry. Any of these situations will cause her to go back on her medication.”

The psychiatrist does not have a clear answer to the question of whether Britney should be placed back under guardianship. “Right now the most important thing is that she gets her medication. She no longer has control over herself. The judge must decide on guardianship in the interests of the patient. If she needs that, that should be done,” he nods. “She may not have been happy in her father’s custody, but she was stable.”
